I.I.R.E.C-B.C.T.

Yes, I realize that I.I.R.E.C-B.C.T. is a ridiculously long acronym (and one that you will probably not remember).  Although it stands for Instrument Induced Remodeling of the Elastic Collagen-Based Tissues, we simply refer to it as TISSUE REMODELING.

Instead of treating MUSCLES, TENDONS, LIGAMENTS, and particularly FASCIA using the outdated DRUG-BASED MODEL, I believe you deserve something better.  Treating with the old model says that the culprit behind all of these problems is local inflammation.  In most cases, this is simply not true.  While it is true that SYSTEMIC INFLAMMATION is a driving force in pain and disease, local inflammation is getting more credit than it deserves.

If local inflammation is not the primary cause of pain and dysfunction in the elastic, collagen-based tissues, then what is?   The real culprit is tissue derangement / degeneration.  Tissue derangement and degeneration is known by the medical term “osis“.  Think FIBROSIS here — the medical name for what I refer to in my clinic as ‘SCAR TISSUE‘.   This is why outdated terms such as “tendinitis” (although used by doctors with their patients) were replaced by medically-updated terms such as “tendinosis” over two decades ago.  Here is an example from one of the world’s elite research orthopedists.

Tendinosis, sometimes called tendinitis, or tendinopathy, is damage to a tendon at a cellular level (the suffix “osis” implies a pathology of chronic degeneration without inflammation). It is thought to be caused by micro-tears in the connective tissue in and around the tendon, leading to an increased number of tendon repair cells. This may lead to reduced tensile strength, thus increasing the chance of repetitive injury or even tendon rupture. Tendinosis is often misdiagnosed as tendinitis due to the limited understanding of tendinopathies by the medical community. Tendon researcher, Dr. GA Murrell from an article called, “Understanding Tendinopathies” in the December 2002 issue of The British Journal of Sports Medicine.

Treating soft tissue injuries using this updated model is far more effective and patient-friendly than simply prescribing more medication — something you’ve been through umpteen times already.   I realize that this sounds like grandstanding.  It’s not.  For proof, sneak a peek at a few of the hundreds of VIDEO TESTIMONIALS we’ve collected over the years.  For ANY NUMBER OF PROBLEMS, Tissue Remodeling  is more effective than anything I’ve witnessed in my 25 years in the profession.

The fantastic thing about treating in this manner is that it is not critical for me to determine exactly which tissue is injured.  No matter which of the elastic, collagen-based tissues are injured, the model for treating and healing them is essentially the same (HERE).

WARNING:  Be prepared because the more you read, the more ticked off you’ll be that you have been misled and lied to by the medical community for this long.  Fortunately, the flip side of that coin is that this new model provides hope.  It’s quite possible there is a solution to your problem.
